William Zimmerman founded Pic 'N' Save Corporation in 1950 by Culver City, California. By 1985, it operated 90 stores in California and six other Western U.S. states. It later expanded to the Southwest and the South, and left both markets in the late 1990s.



In 2002, Big Lots (formerly Consolidated Stores Corporation) bought out the remaining Pic 'N' Save stores and converted them into the Big Lots brand.


They Always Come Back:
The merchandise is exactly the same. In fact, you can see Pic 'N' Save tags under current Big Lots tags on some of the larger white elephants. (quite literally )

there was another grocery store by the same name in ohio. it was owned by finast.(they one time owned stop and shop,giant food,and bi-lo.

I use to work for Pic N Save garden grove from 1981 to 1984 Loved the people hated the supervisors> We had 2 managers that would smoke at the registors while approving checks and blow their smoke in the customers faces. I had so great times there tho.......They made us unload the truucks on thrusdays me and 6 old ladys they would be so dirty after ward for $1.65 per hour.... Big lots sucks been in their 2 times. I can remember PIc N Save on saturdays would be so busy that we would have 7 registers going most of the day. Now Big lots has one register open on a stauday i went in and no customers

If you do a search for Pick “N” Save a dude by the name of Mark J. Miller is restarting the PickNSave brand it’s only one location in Anaheim CA
